Ipswich has a vibrant music scene and it was great to be invited to visit and see some of it as
part of our work with the British Library. On a trip organised by Ipswich Community Media, I visited in February 2019 to record musicians in the town. This project was only possible because of the support of a number of people who all went out of their way to plan everything, share their time, expertise and recourses and also made me feel very welcome. They are all part of a great community in Ipswich. Big thanks to Cad and everyone at Ipswich Community Media for all their help, the Smokehouse for the use of their venue and Suffolk Refugee Support. Special thanks to all the musicians; Nqobile, Ammar, Mohammed, Adilson & Gapa for sharing their time and musical talents with us, they all made beautiful music and where a joy to work with.
