One World, One Love Festival
organised by Culture Connect Project, a brilliant organisation from Newhaven East Sussex. Their website describes their aims
“to promote cultural awareness, inclusion, and community engagement. Our mission is to build bridges between cultures and people, creating a space where individuals can celebrate their heritage, share traditions, and experience the richness of diverse cultures.
Through creative events, educational initiatives, and volunteer opportunities, we inspire collaboration and social change while fostering understanding between communities. Our projects support young people in the UK and globally, ensuring that diverse voices are heard, respected, and valued.”
Their work is excellent and places artists and organisations from diverse backgrounds at the front and centre of what they do. Highly recommended. The festival was on April 19th in Seaford Academy Newhaven, there was music, food arts and crafts, a clothes swap room, information stalls and community activism, a beautiful sunny day with a positive atmosphere and crowd all day. In the current hostile environment to people from minoritised backgrounds, One World, One Love festival was an excellent, life affirming day of celebration and sharing, showing what a community really looks like.
Thanks to Jen, Isaac and all the team at Culture Connect for booking Svitlo Amal and making a great day for all.
